Fremont’s Massage Therapy program provides students with a broad-based introduction to the art and science of massage therapy as well as opportunities for learning how massage is applied to resolve specific conditions of the body. You will gain in-depth educational skills that increase your knowledge and develop specialized techniques of massage through instruction and hands-on training in our well-rounded curriculum.
All over the country, alternative medicine and holistic therapies are gaining credibility and are now viewed as mainstream treatments for common ailments. A full body massage can be used to relieve a variety of mental and physical ailments ranging from depression to sports injuries. Even individuals who simply need stress relief can benefit from massage therapy. Fremont's massage therapy classes are specifically tailored to offer students the roster of massage skills and techniques in high demand.
Sports & Rehabilitation Therapy is a theory-based and skills-oriented program. During the course of this program students will enhance their sports massage technique with new strokes, technique, and methods (i.e. Pre-event, Inter-competition, & Post-event sports massage). In addition to these skills, students will learn preventative techniques to aid athletes in decreasing the risk of injury. In the four Sports Therapy concentrated classes, students can expect to learn, define, and explain terminology used in the athletic community to describe common pathologies & injuries. As well as how to properly recognize, assess, and treat athletic related injuries within the scope of their practice. Students will learn about biomechanics, range of motion, and therapeutic exercise & modalities used to address/rehabilitate the active community.
