"Today, you have a mentor in the legal industry." Fremont paralegal studies students were privileged to hear from attorney Nikki Jacobson, a specialist in the field of immigration law. Ms. Jacobson is a founding partner of Jacobson & Han, and has practiced law for more than 12 years representing immigrants before the INS.
Ms. Jacobson has extensive experience in Immigration Law; including, deportation and removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has successfully represented clients in political asylum, withholding of deportation, cancellation of removal, and criminal and fraud waiver cases.
During her meeting with Fremont students, Ms. Jacobson delivered valuable career advice to future graduates, emphasizing the importance of integrity, experience, and flexibility for paralegals. She described her personal background as an immigrant and her assimilation to American culture. Students took advantage of their opportunity to ask questions of Ms. Jacobsen, and received a lot of insight into the immigration law industry as well as the job market for paralegals. Fremont is thankful to Ms. Jacobson for her time and wise advice.
