Iowayna Peña studied and obtained a BS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training at California State University Fullerton, where she also minored in Health Science. She has her AA in Liberal Arts from Mt. San Antonio College and has been working at Fremont College for four years now.Prior to teaching, Iowayna worked as an athletic trainer for various schools and professional athletic organizations, which allowed her to travel and work in many different settings. In addition to teaching, Iowayna coordinates the externship program for the Wellness Department here at Fremont College, and continues to work with athletes from the amateur level up to professionals. This allows her to still be involved in servicing the community, which is very important to her. The Health and Wellness field was created to help people, so working in this field gives her the opportunity to spread a culture of care.
