Professional Action Learning - Embedded with Industry
Our unique approach, researched and designed exclusively by Fremont College's® Chancellor and CEO, is Professional Action Learning ("PAL"). This unique teaching methodology is aimed at helping you learn better and faster than you would in traditional colleges. To fully understand Fremont's unique six-step process, we welcome you to visit a course and experience it for yourself.
This diagram illustrates what you can expect from a typical classroom session.

1. Content Delivery
Your faculty will present you with a presentation on the topic at hand that can include everyting from videos and news clips to podcasts. It's an exciting interactive experience, and as far from a traditional lecture as you can get.
2. Questioning Dialogue
Students ask "burning questions" and everyone gets their turn. Over time, you'll learn how to frame your questions so you get the best possible answer.
3. Group Discussion
Students break into groups to discuss individual aspects of the topic at hand. Each student plays a vital role in the group. The goal is to make the most of your time by pooling the resources of the entire class.
4. Teachback
Each group will give a short presentation back to the class about what they had learned. The class asks questions, clarifies their learning, and provides feedback on the presentations.
5. Reflective Summary
Everyone jots down the key points they learned and shares their "Learning Gems" with the class. These learning gems become comprehensive learning journals by the end of the class.
6. Learning Archive
Everything that students learn—their presentations, papers, and case analyses—are archived at Fremont.edu to make the next class even better.
Experience PAL for yourself and you'll quickly see how our graduates are transformed into articulate, skilled professionals ready to lead in today's competitive workplace.
